About Herbert

Herbert “J.R.” Weighknecht has proudly called the Emerald Coast home for the past 15 years. He has been married to his wife for over 25 years, and together they have raised two children, Autumn and Wyatt.

J.R. served more than 20 years in the U.S. military, including extensive overseas assignments in Honduras, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Iraq, and Afghanistan. As a Green Beret, he earned two Bronze Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, four Army Commendation Medals, along with numerous additional awards and recognitions. During his service, he also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business.

Today, J.R. brings that same discipline, attention to detail, and mission focused mindset to real estate. With more than 20 years of personal real estate investing experience, he understands the market from both a homeowner and investment perspective.

For sellers, J.R. focuses on maximizing property value through strategic pricing, targeted marketing, and strong negotiation to achieve the best possible outcome. For buyers, he provides in depth market insight, identifies strong opportunities, and guides clients through the process with clarity and confidence, whether purchasing a primary residence, second home, or a property that can help offset ownership costs through short term rental income.

J.R. is deeply committed to the local community and currently serves as the Okaloosa County Chairman for Ducks Unlimited, where he has helped raise over $250,000 for the organization.

Outside of real estate, he enjoys working on his hobby farm, raising produce, grass fed animals, and honeybees, and living a clean, self sustaining lifestyle. He also takes full advantage of the Emerald Coast, spending time kayaking, diving, snorkeling, fishing, hunting, and hiking.
